Appendix 4b: Final Project FAQ#
How will the project be assessed?#
You can always find the most up-to-date criteria on the module’s Moodle page.
What should I include in my final submission?#
Your submisison should include the following:
A completed pro-forma (see template on Moodle), which will include a declaration of all resources used, including any AI tools.
Your code, which should be well-documented and include comments explaining your design decisions and any assumptions made.
Documentation of how to use your software, if applicable, including any necessary setup instructions (e.g., installation steps, dependencies, commands and arguments).
Can I use AI?#
Yes! There are many tools available, but we expect students to only use VS Code Copilot or the UoN-provided Copilot, to ensure fairness. AI can be a very powerful tool, but you need to make sure to use it in an ethical manner. While it can write large chunks of code for you, it may also be incorrect and you need to properly attribute the code used in this manner to avoid potential academic misconduct.
As part of your final submission, you will need to declare all use of AI and other resources used.
Be sure to carefully read the University’s guidance on the use of AI in assessments
Can I come up with my own project idea?#
Yes, you just need to make sure to get it approved by one of the module staff beforehand.
